The application process will be open until March 1.

The selected artists will receive a stipend of $600, in addition to participating in a deep cultural immersion that includes workshops, specialized talks and, above all, professional projection and visibility within the regional art scene.

The initiative seeks to strengthen the creative voices of the region through a collaborative process guided by its founder, Luana Dias David , along with a team of invited artists and professionals. The program promotes active participation, allowing each person to contribute their talent to a collective work that will be publicly presented at the end of the residency.

The residency will take place on six selected Sundays ( March 15 and 29; April 12 and 26; and two dates in May to be confirmed) in an intensive three-hour lab format, followed by a one-hour public presentation .

Additional benefits include the generation of professional material (high-quality photography and video) ideal for portfolios and dissemination of participants, as well as bi-weekly visibility opportunities and a final community celebration , designed to strengthen the connection with new audiences.

Beyond its artistic merit, The Quilombo Experience is also a declaration of cultural resistance . The term quilombo originates from the communities formed by enslaved Africans who escaped to Brazil and settled with their own autonomous vision in a free territory. The Quilombo Experience reflects Luana Dias's learning in samba academies and in community processes where art is created by and for the community .

This is a unique opportunity to create, learn and share from the Afro-Brazilian cultural roots, in a space of collaboration, memory and artistic growth with professional projection.
